No Spark 600 Sportsman
I was doing a little bit of plowing and on the way from my neighbor's house to mine the wheeler just died, no clunck, no thud, just blahhh.
It will turn over, lights work etc. After putting it in the heated garage for a day to make sure nothing was frozen I cleaned it up and just looked for anything that may be obvious...well first, one of the plug wires was actually off of the plug, I put it back on, still nothing. Pulled both plugs, checked to see if I got spark but didn't see anything. The old ones were shot anyway so got two new ones, checked for spark on the engine block again and nothing...figured I would put them in and check for the heck of it...would not start...so, pretty sure it's electrical. Now to work my way back, that's the hard part, I'm not that great with electricity but I do have a meter and would like to start doing a little diagnostics. Please let me know if you have a good process for me to check through the components. Thanks
Oh, I could probably use to get a book so I know what the readings should be, any suggestions?

No, I checked the switch, I've had that happen when I was like 10 and haven't forgoten it since, my father busted on me so bad because I was affraid to tell him the 4 wheeler broke and all it was is I had hit the switch...over the next 20 years I've learned a few things but I can't say I've ever had an electrical problem on my sleds or wheeler. I'm going to get my multi meter from work today and start trying to test, just don't know what to expect.
It has one coil, I figure it could have gone but I want to check it befor buying one. I don't have spark at the end so I figure I can work my way back to see where the power stops flowing.

There are actually two coils in one located under the left front fender. All a person can do with that is check the resistance in and out of that. It would help if you had a polaris manual for the machine to be able to check the resistance measurements to your stator. Ohh your plug caps should have about 5k ohms of resistance.

I could use the specs but I did read on another forum here that there is a guy that has the manuals on cd on ebay for approx. $16 as opposed to the book I priced today around $80 so I may look into that. I have a multimeter but most of my problems are I'm not good at using that either so really I'm out of my league but I'm trying. Any info will be helpful.
