2000 sportsman 500 Wheel Bearings...Help!!
#1
Before I dig in.......
Just wondering if anybody has replaced their front wheel bearings & races & what's involved?
Do the races remove easily?
I have new bearings & races but not sure about removing the old races...
I have a Clymer & Haynes manual and neither covers it to well... did a search on here & came up pretty much empty... Thanks!!

Changing the bearings and races will not be a big deal. The races should be easily removed with the use of a good drift or punch and before reinstalling them simply place the hub and/or shaft that they are going onto in the freezer for a good period of time and that will help with the installation. Be sure they are going on in the proper direction prior to installation! You may also want to use a little lubrication prior to installing.
Hope this helps, Superintendent

Thanks Guys....
I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend,
I just became a little curious when one of the manuals i have suggested taking it to a dealer for bearing race replacement
I didn't want to get into it & find out I need a 50ton press or something.... LOL
