Default Removing rear spindle on a 2002

My buddie has a 2002 sportsman, and it appear that one of the rear bolt that holds the spindle to the lower A-arm has sheered off. How do you remove the lower a-arm from the spindle? I removed all the bolts upper and lower but it feels like bushings or something are keeping the spindle from sliding out of the lower a-arm. The top comes apart easy but the bottom must be some kind of trick.

Thanks

are you refering to the hub that the a arms are bolter too that house the cv spindle? if so i beleave the bolts are the only holding it. at least the ones i've taken off.

Yes I am refering to the part that the CV joint attaches to on the outside, and that the upper and lower a-arms attach to as the spindle. I removed the top a-arm bolt and that came out, one of the lower bolst is broken and I took the other bolt out, but it feels like the bushings in the a-arms extend into the spindle as it will not move in or out.

In the parts diagram its called the "bearing carrier"

Thanks

if you look at the parts break down in the polaris parts list you'll see that the parts that hold it together. there is bushing in the bottom ones but pull right out. maybe the broken bolt is interfering w/ it sliding out.

You are right, the bushings do go into the carrier about an 1/8 inch or so. Just enuff to make it hard to get it apart.
