97 Sportsman with 7000 miles is awsome.
I just wonder how many miles these engines will last.
I've been told if you take care of them with freq. oil and filter changes they will last a long time.

The idea of this forum question is to see what longevity these engines have.

I have an '85 that I beat until '96 when I swamped it. I thought I had it all dried out and rode it some after that, but over the winter i came home from college and found it frozen up.
Then I moved away and my brother and friend took it apart and lots lots of parts.
I now have it almost reassembled.
That thing was perfectly reliable back when I used to ride it.
One I get it together I would like to get some more old ones.

got a 94 400 sportsman 2 stroke. Had 3000+ miles when i rolled it over on some ice and lost the speedo. Probably has north of 4000 miles now. Always starts as soon as you touch the button or first pull.. Needs a new piston though... the crappy stock one seems to have collapsed and im getting piston slap and low comp. STILL RUNS THOUGH!!
