i've never seen such strange logic on how something is not suppose to work. if you stop and think about it(anyone), it wouldnt even make since for that set up to work. i do beleave you couldnt just unhook the wires on the newer ones and still have the awd work, but thats just a guess.

 

Got it........just one more question. And I am not trying to instill another riot, just curious. If the whole box is bad, than why do my lights, and starter switch still work? They are in the exact same box.

If I did that, wouldn't I kill the lights and starter switch (which are in that box) too?

Heres another crazy thing. I have received local quotes anywhere from 103.00 to 260.00 for the box. Any suggestions on where to order parts for a good price online?

Even if it runs in reverse w/o the rev limiter hooked up, there are times when my 8 year old will drive sitting in front of me, therefor the remote possibility that she could hop on when I am not around, and back right down the hill, and right into the pond, as she wouldn't be used to the lack of a rev limiter. I mention this only to preclude more comments about just unhooking the damn thing.

cwigg brings up a good point about the everything going to the box. theirs a post a few weeks ago about guys sportsman shuting off when he put on the lights and the box was the problem.replace the box and the problem is fixed.

You keep asking questions about your combo switch on your handlebars. You DO NOT have a problem with your combo switch.

Do NOT unhook anything from the switch. Do NOT attempt to take it apart.

Update here on the so called "BLACK BOX" the dealer told me it does several things...It was reading the amps were to high when the lights got turned on and shut the quad off!!!!
Also when these fail.......A number of strange things can happen to the quads and effect them in different was...........Just to let you know.....exlaxrider....(sorry if I spelled it wrong)............caper...........
