yeh - definately have to remember to turn it off when you shut off your bike. OR put a kill wire in directed from the ignition. I have installed many different lights (neon, overhead, bed lights, foglights, interior dash lights) and switches in my truck without relays and never had a switch burn out. You do have to buy one that can handle it but its easier to me.
