Can someone tell me a lil about the exhaust seal that goes btwn the head pipe and manifold pipe. My 425 magnum has a leak and im thinking that its the gasket needing replacing so i have a new one ordered . Can some one tell me how to install the new one. i know there is the 2 springs holding the exhaust together so i assume i start with taking them apart haha. Whats next ??

That's it. remove the springs, then pull the pipe apart and replace the gasket. Use a piece of shoelace to remove and install the spring. It'll save you knuckles.

 

well i have it apart already , and apparently there was no seal at all. The seal i have of course is a ring , but is it suppose to just stick off inside there and the connect the springs back together. i also noticed one side of the seal is larger than the other. I guess it would have been easier if there was a old one to go by but since there isnt and i have never did this before which way does the seal go ? Thanks!!
