Hi all,
Last weekend I took the kids and dogs to the woods,We walked around for a while. When we got ready to leave the quad wouldnt start.I had no head lights no power to anything.Wait lets back up,befor we left to go,I noticed that the tach wasnt working. It would only display o rpm while running. The trip stayed the same along with the milage. They displayed but wouldnt change. Ok we got ready to go home ,No start.i pulled out the battery and headed home.I charged up the battery walked back to the quad ,installed battery fired right up.On the short trip home the battery light on the pod started to flash again,so being a 2004.5 sp500 I thuoght the battery crapped out.Got home took out the battery and tested it and the battery was no good.I bought a new battery,Not from the dealer, installed it and everything was good, this was on friday night.Went out today the quad fired up and while it was warming up the battery light started to flash again. The weird thing about it was when I turned the headlights on the battery light would go off.Went for a ride on the battery light would flash every now and then.I would check the on board dionastic(?) and the volts were reading12.0 to 12.5 with the headlights ,handwarmer on,with them off it was 12.9 to 13 volts.
The display on the pod still displays everthing it should, lights up but the tach reads o and the trip and milage doesnt change.
What do you all think?

You MAY have a bad black box!!....I mean the Sure Power Industries,Inc. (made in China).
The dealer told me they do weird things when the let go(fail).......
Mine would shut down the quad when I turned on the headlights switch!!!
They had a recall on some of the earlier Polaris models....In 2005 I think......
Don't quote me on the problem for sure.......I am just giving you my view and what happened to me!!!!
My part is still on back-order from the dealer.........About 5 weeks now since it happened.....Caper.....
