Default clutch question

i have a 99 sportsman, bought it last year. it had 27" well worn tires when i bought it. i decided to put on some mudlites late in the year. i havent driven it much over the winter (a shame i know) but the one thing i did notice after i put on the new rubber was i nosed the bike up to a steep bank and and tried to climb it and it seem liked the belt was slipping the i tried it in low and it went up.

my questions are, would the extra 1" of tread make that much difference, do i need a clutch kit, how much do they run and how hard or how much does it cost on average to have it installed. do you lose alot of speed when you install a clutch kit because i really love speed by my honda buddies on the trail and would hate to not be able to do that

with the worn tire wouldn't lift the front tires off the ground,
i replaced the belt just before the tires, (burnt it up plling a friend through 8-10 KM's of swamp after he turned his into a submarine. could the belt be installed wroun (idont think so but just wondering

thanks

Default clutch question

the thing is that important on these w/ big tires or working it like pulling someone out is too use low range. i replaced my 02 500 belt w/ a 700 belt because it has top cogs and helps to keep it a little cooler. if you read what everyone says about the 500 clutch kit then you'll see that the biggest help would be a heel kicker would be the best improvemnt. they are tunable. i dont beleave you would loose any top speed as long as you put the weights in the right place.
