I recently bought a moose county plow tapered blade. Installed it last night. The front suspension seems to be to soft. When I pick the plow up it sags way down. What should I try a stiffer spring, or Dennis Kirk sells a progressive adjustable for the struts, or is there something better. I'm not sure what avenue to take and where to get the merchandise to fix my problem.
P.S. Other than that the plow works great and I have plenty of pushing power. Thanks! This is for a 00 Sportsman 500.

The best thing I ever did for pushing snow with my Sportsman was install front and rear lift kits and firm front springs. That wasn’t the reason I did either one of these mods but it sure improved my ability to raise the blade. Now there’s very little front end sag and I can get the blade up high and out of the snow for backing up.

Now I’m only offering this as an example of how much easier it is to plow with increased ability to raise the blade, not suggesting you go through this much trouble just for snow plowing. The benefits to snow plowing for me were a bonus, something I hadn’t even considered when I did the mods. A cheaper easier alternative might be the Coil Spring Spacers Polaris offers. Sold as a pair, they nest in your front springs and reduce the front spring compression under the weight of a plow (or anything else). The information on them says they can even be used in multiple pairs for less compression. The Part # is 2872655 and they list for $14.99 a pair.

I just ordered stiffer springs for my Polaris. They are more expensive than the spacers, but the machine needed them anyway.

i have the progressive adjustable springs on the front of mine their nice cause you can crank them stiff for plowing then when trail riding make them soft again so your not riding a lumber wagon.

i'm using the coil spacers. i'm real happy with them. i guess i wouldn't change my springs/shocks just for plowing. i just pop them out when i have the plow off and presto! i'm back to my regular ride.

polaris makes a h/d spring for plowing..i was quoted 22 bucks a spring,if you dont mind a stiffer ride after your done plowing theres a cheap way to stop it from sagging..a lift kit is merely a spacer for the spring which loads the spring more not allowing it to sag as much, another way to achieve similar results
