Well adding a pipe will definetly give you more power but it will be louder.
And you will have to rejet your carb after you add a pipe.

And if you don't mind, I'd like to borrow the thread for a second. I am aware on the air intake gains on motor vehicles, but not on ATV's. What kind of gains can u look to see on my 500SP X2? Since it's EFI, will it automatically adjust the air/fuel mixture so I don't go too rich? Thanks

i would do some searching on how much you actually gain in hp vs. the cost for all this upgrading to see if the cost is actually worth the gains. everything ive ever read says you only gain maybe up to 5 hp which isnt very much if your spending $400 plus. im not sure if you would have to remap the efi for the pipe of not. i know on some car/bikes they put it on a computer or put a chip in to readjust it to compinsate for the massive air flow they get.

I run a Aaen megaphone cone cap on my 500 HO. I modified the end so I can use a "SPARKY" spark arrestor with it. No re jetting needed. Great performance gain but also is louder
