Default BIG FOOT KITS???

Does putting larger tires/wheels on really put a lot of stress on the machine? Aside from detracting overall power/speed, that is.

From what I understand, The bigger wheels and tires don't put added stress on the bike. However, lift kits put a lot of stress on teh CV Joints. This is all info gathered from various dealers in my area.

if you put alot bigger tires on w/ the added weight, and more rotating mass i thinkit will be harder for sure on the whole drive train when you put it though its paces.

Go easy on me when I ask this question. Why does lift kits add
extra stress on the CV joints?

Thanks,

Default BIG FOOT KITS???

i got mine mounted and am a little on the fence with them. i also installed 1.5" wheel spacers. i love the looks and in the mud they are great. i went places that my friend on his can am wouldnt even try. it also felt more stable sliding on dirt. as for the cons, ride is rougher and i did loose power enough so that i want it back. you feel a lot more in the steering. getting used to the extra with will take time to get used to as i snagged some trees cutting through some tight places. they did rub in the back but i can't figure out where but it was only under really rough conditions comming over bumps fast enough to get in the air a little. they also throw you around a lot more comming off bumps. i lost the smooth ride feeling when riding aggressive and it takes a lot more muscle to keep the machine under control. all in all i think for regular trail riding at a fast pace you are better off with out them, but if you're in the mud or have big stuff to run over at a slower pace they are great.

anyone know how to get the power back? maybe a clutch kit?
