I was out on a trail ride running my sportsman 700 pretty had and when i stopped to idle a bit i noticed my battery light flash. I was idling around 1200. How long are batteries normally good for. I have a 04 and still have the original. I didn't see it the rest of the day.

 

it varies from 3 to 6 yrs. depending on the condtions and the strain on them i beleave. check your volts while its running and off to see what the readings are. if you have alot on like the winch, extra lights, or maybe something hooked into the outlet may be drawing too much juice.

 

I would check all your connections. Sounds to me like you have a loose connection somewhere
