Speedometer problems
#1
Hey
my 95 xplorer 400, the speedo doesnt not work, i took off the cable and the cable is fine.
so then i the the guage cluster, and hooked the cable in the back, and the spun the cable from the tranny, by hand, and no movement was indicated on the dial, So then i removed the cable from the cluster and used a screwdriver to spin the dial (where the cable is supposed to go) and then it spins....
Since the cluster has over 5000 miles on it, i assume the it must be worn out..... does anyone agree.... like the hole is too big for the tiny end of the cable....

take the little gear driven angle off by where it attaches to the transmission. there is a little short piece of cable in there that breaks.
That little cable is only a couple $ where the cluster is many$ Worth a look.
