Hawkeye Solution / problems

I talked to the service manager at Polaris today. He hadn't heard about removing the rollers. He did say if you were to go with the 10 gram rollers it might want to creep on you at idle. He did say I could get rid of the throttle lag off of idle if I replace the spring in the drive clutch. I might look into that when the warranty is up.
Do you have the '07 muffler? It has a small curved pipe coming out of the bottom of the muffler. It dosen't exit out the rear like the '06 muffler did. I have no idea how I could remove the spark arrestor from my muffler.

I have a new 2006 2x4 with the same problem as yours of poor acceleration. The symptoms you describe are the same as mine, even though mine is 2-wheel drive.
Do you have any idea if the 2-wheel drive would benefit with this modification?
Thanks,
Arthur

Everyone seams to have a positive outcome from this rollar adjustment....but are there any down side affects??(Current or down the road) And the videos on youtube dont work.....</end quote></div>
I have a Polaris service manual and it states "for over 10,000' of elevation run six 10 gram rollers". It also states "to remove opposite rollers to retain proper clutch balance". So I would guess that there is no problem with removing 2 clutch rollers. Funny thing is they say at 0' to 5000' run eight 13 gram weights. My Hawkeye came with 14 gram weights.
As I have posted the quad actually runs smoother with the two 14 gram rollers removed. The handlebars do not buzz nearly as much as before.

Here is what i figure for the Hawkeye clutching and Tires
If you run 25 inch tires then you need to remove rollers or install lighter rollers this is quicker spin up for the Clutch then roll One Ahhhh !!! and think awhile.
if you run 22 inch tires then leave the rollers stock for Higher top speed which is slower Spin up but faster speed, Then roll another Ahhhh!!! and think awhile.
then go eat something LOL

Have any ideas about the '07's funky muffler? That little curved exit pipe HAS to be restrictive. Have you heard about, or seen ANY aftermarket silencers for the Hawkeye yet. I've thought about buying an '06 muffler, but I would have to buy the new headpipe too. And I don't want to have to do that.
