I just picked up my '06 Hawkeye 2x4 today from the dealer for the steering stem fix. The repair order I recieved shows a new set of 10gram white rollers installed under the warranty. I haven't rode it except down the street and back. It was quite a bit quicker off the start than it ever has been. I didn't realize what was done until reading this forum.

I have stock 06 Hawkeye......From all the posts I just read if I just remove 2 of the rollers on opposite sides, I should get some better acceleration at the lower end.....will I lose anything on the top end?

yes it will run quicker to 40 mph than it did before but the top speed will suffer 5 mph Still itll run 45 or so, but the trade off for the acceleration is worth it, Just remomber to use Loctite on the clutch nut and Tighten that nut real tight with an Impact or it will come loose.

Although it sounds dumb at first, how did you keep everything from turning when you removed the 30mm nut?
Also, is it a standard thread (left loose / right tight?)
I've got it in gear and the brake locked. That's how I got the clutches off my motorcycles, but everything is still rotating when i try to wrench the 30mm nut.
How do you lock that CVT down to get the nut off (and back on)?

You have to use an Impact , or make yourself a Strap that wraps around the Clutch itself, Rightey tightey and lefty loosey is right on the nut, the nut also has factory loctite on it.
