Default Explorer 500 ???

I believe that I have seen some listed on EBAY lately.

A search here turns up almost nothing.

Was there ever a 500 2 stroke that I don't know aboot?

Or were they cornfusing the X-Pedition 500 for "Explorer"?

If I'm not mistaken the 500 explorer was only made in 97, it was basically the same machine as the sportsmans.

Right, 97 was the first and only year for the Explorer 500. It came in red whereas the Sportsman's were green, both 4 strokes.....

The 500 Explorer had IRS, but it didn't have a highbeam light up top as well as a speedometer. It was suppose to be a cheapier version of the sportsman 500, but other than what I just mentioned the sportsman and explorer were identical.

Like the others said, it was a cheaper version of the Sportsman 500, with 4 stroke, IRS, red plastic, 97 year model only, and lacking the upper headlight.
