Just how fast topend/acceleration are 450's?
Not necessarily Polaris specific but it's a question I've been pondering over for a while now. It seems like most of the Manufacturers are out with 450 class Sport machines but just how fast do they go? Stock, that is. Why a 450? What is so great about them? I've had a guy tell me that a 450 is far faster than like a Predator 500, I know the weight difference would be a factor and the fact that they're not that far apart in terms of displacement.. but.. I just have to know. Anyone who can answer this, thanks.

450 cc's is a class limit as well. By far the biggest. So in order to race in that class you must be under 450cc's. Also, 450s are easy to work on and there are alot of parts. The yfz 450 is about the closest to a 525. But Ive dragged against yfz 450s and raptor 700, (even a ford ranger once :-) ) and the 525 pulls away from everything. Its faster accelerating and most quads have similar top speeds so once you have pulled away, you stay away. Mine will go about 76 mph and it will get there really quick. No experience on the 500. But lots of people say they will only just keep up with a 450. They are very heavy. Just think, the 525 weighs less and has a ton more power.
