cool, its the sportsman 450 engine in the new hawk/sports what ever they've calling it and its actually a 455 cc w/ a 34 mm carb. it ought to really pull that bike around since its 98 lbs. lighter then the sportsman 450 was.

i think it's just a way to dump the 450 sportsman and put that engine in a hawkeye frame then again the hawkeye does look better then sportsman

well i bet the 450 will feel much more alive in that size atv. if you look at other atvs it really shouldn't be a full blown full size anyways. thats why other atvs out performed it, it was just a little small for that size frame. sportsman's are big and heavy, but thats what i like about them lol...

One thing for sure, If they do not de-tune that 455 Motor then the Midsize Sportsman will be a Killer machine except for the smaller frame instead of the full size Sportman, their calling it the Midsize Sportsman 400 HO, Quad magazine had a Under 6k shootout of 4wd Atvs and they really gave the Hawkeye no real Praises for anything except the storage area up front, 4x4 magazine said if they would give the Hawkeye 50 more CC,s then they would be in love, The New Sportsman will be a Machine to be reckoned with if they fixed the Broken Suspension problems and thin A_arms, I havent had a problem with mine but some have, Easy fix though, The new Sportsman with a jet kit, Clutch Kit and the better tires (just my Opinion now) should be a rockin machine, Some like that great big 700 Pound atv with 25 Hp but a machine that weighs 200 pounds less with the same motor--thats thing is gonna rock.

I have a 07 hawkeye with 25" mudlites and theroller mod and jumping on the gas it can get out of hand on the trails. And I have never ran out of power going up hills or rock crawling.
If you chk out my pics you can get a hawkeye airborne going uphill iI realy dont think they need a bigger motor just adj. a bit.

they deff need a new airbox setup water spashes up under the seat right to the intake, I made a snorkel for mine but have to bump up pipe sizes its starving for air so im redoing it this week with 1 1/2 pipe
