It says the engine is running hot, the gas gauage is flashing on and off and the rpm has stopped working. Has any one had this problem?

sounds like the modual is going bad. it controlls alot of functions. if the awd is still working then its most likely not the speedo as the problem.

When I am riding my polaris 400 - 2005 - the instrument panel goes blank then a few seconds later the engine stops running. In order for me to crank it again I have to cut the switch key back to the off position for it to crank. I can not just turn the switch key where it is in the start position to crank it. It has to go back to the off position then it will crank. It is showing o rpm , the gas gauage blinks on and off but every thing else is working. What will happen if a run it with out a thermostat. It had been running hot but I took the thermostat out and it stopped running hot but I got a price that was 48 dollars for one.

Hi, I'm new here and I happen to have a 05 400 that had the same ailment as yours. There was a recall on the ecm for SOME of the 05 400 sportsmans, the recall didn't include mine but none the less my ecm cought on fire ruining the whole wiring harnass, ecm, and stator. I screamed and yelled and put up a fight and polaris ended up paying for the parts. I still had to pay labor. This is a major problem that polaris knows about. Unfortunatly for me , shortly after getting it back I had a bit of an accident and ended up rolling it over. Hope this was helpful.

Yes , it the Power module, or Electronic control module, same thing, (Sure Power Ind.)
They have circuit breakers in them ...Which when you turn the key off they will re-set!!
I needed to replace mine in my 2006 SP 450 already!!!
Look up the recall list and see it yours in there........if not I guess it will be out of your pocket!!!!

My was under the front headlight mounted to the frame, Black box with fins on it!!(Made in China)
Polaris=U.S.A. ............Don't laugh.....Not made in the U.S.A. but just built!!!!!!

..............Caper..............
