Default sp 500 problems

hey guys my brother has a 96 sportsman 500, Good shape and low miles, recently the bike has been having a big lack of power, when you hammer the gas some times it goes and some times it does not rev out, we inpected the clutch (primary) and took the carb apart, every thing seems ok any ideas? thanks

Don't think I am being funny here but check the muffler and exhaust. If a rat or wasp nest is built up in it it can act like a clogged catalytic converter on a car. If that is not it and the intake ari flow is good and you have already checked the carb and clutch out make sure you don't have a vacuum leak in the fuel system or a clogged fuel filter.
