Default ???Lube Time???

What oil, filter and tranny juice can be substituted for the Polaris brand in an 06 500 EFI? I am thinking Royal Purple, Mobile 1 or Amsoil for the oil, just not sure about the other two, filter and tranny grease.. I know to stay with the stock on the front end.

Thanks in advance.

Oil Filter Purolator PL14610 or Mobil M1-110, I would use Mobil one 0w40 synthetic. Tranny, front diff, & rear diff I use Polaris stuff.

That 0W40 almost worries me in the Texas heat. 0W would be like running WD-40 through it in the hot summer time down here. But if that is what they call for they sure know better than me..

the 0 is cold weight and once it heats up it'll be 40 weight which shouldn't take long in texas. although if it worries you, you could go 5w40 in the heat and switch back to 0w40 when cool weather comes.

Wow, this topic is a no-brainer in my opinion. I paid a lot of hard earned money for my new 700 EFI. You can bet your @$$ I'm going to use ONLY the Polaris fluids that they call for. Why would anyone gamble and try to see what other oils MIGHT work??????? Lets see...........risk a $7,000 machine to save what? like $40 a year? I don't care if it was $400 a year.....NO WAY.

I see your point but the Mobil 1 0w40 has got to be as good or better as Mobil 1 is a #1 supplier of top oils. Who knows maybe mobil 1 is the polaris oil in there own container w/ a markup. I'm sure Polaris doesn't make the oil.

I would have to agree.....................adn if there is a warranty issue......you arent going to hear "you didnt use the recommended fluids" Polaris may be more $, but in my book, the xtra bucks is a peace of mind
