I picked up my atv with new replacement heat shield. The two small metal heat shields were replaced with one 25" shield that runs the length of the exhaust pipe from front of muffler to downward bend at rear of gas tank. The pipe is surounded by an aluminum shield with only bottom of exhaust exposed. I haven't ridden alot but does seem to help.
