I broke the rope on the recoil starter on the 01 TB and need to replace it. I looked at Babbittsonline at OEM parts and they do not have a listing for just the rope, All they state is nylon starter rope with no price. Has anyone replaced one of these ropes and if so, what type of nylon did you use and how long? I cant imagine that it takes specialty rope or anything, just need to confirm that the diameter, length and strength are close to the original.

 

no special rope needed. just go to the local hardware or auto parts store and get the correct size(thickness) nylon rope and it should be fine.
