I had the same issue on 3 of my machines. But the problem was the oil in the front end was wrong. you need demand drive fluid. Polaris part # 2871654. Just an idea to check first before you tear into it.

I haven't changed the fluid in the front yet but that sure would be a lot easier than tearing it down. I also had someone mention to try that first and also see if it is milky. If so, it has water in it and that could be the problem.

I think I have some of the fluid so I may just change all of the fluids, it is probably about time anyway.

Thanks,
Jason

BigContryUSA- do you still have the John Deere Part #'s for the roller cage? If so would it be possible to get those from you? Thanks for your help.

Here are the parts I ordered:

ROLL CAGE ASSY Part # MIA10667
KIT, ROLL Part # MIA10666

Would the diff. be different in the big bore bikes (700/800cc) vs the smaller bikes?

i know that the front 4x4 wheel hubs are over $170 as so are the hilliard clutches.so to just get new on one side for a pre clutched diff. your looking at 400+ dollars, that is why i buy them on ebay,i think i'm up to four extra hubs +hilliards, i actually got 1 set for $17 so i can always sell to make a profit.
