please help polaris 400 4*2 problems

please help polaris 400 4*2 problems
does any body know about the polaris ETC i think i may be having problems
it is hard to crank up then when i give it gas it bogs and spits and back fires
it was working fine untill i took the cover off the trottle control to look inside when i took the screw out the spring came out but i put back in did i do something wrong and ca i bypass it any help would great
