Default Sportsman Plowing Lots of Snow

Plowing is easy on machines. The only really part of the quad its hard on is the winch if you use for lifting. Constantly goin up and down. Its very hard on the winch when your lifting a bunch of snow into piles. Once you get really good at it you can time it so the plow is raised right as you get to your pile.

We don't get much snow here in the winter, but I am constantly being reminded of "The blizzard of 93' " My questions is this... how hard on the ATV is plowing? I know it takes a toll on trucks over time, is it as harsh on your Polaris??

THanks,

Its not as hard on quads as it is trucks. Main reason is the blade for the quads is very light, unlike trucks where the blade is so heavy it wears everything out...

Yeah, if you're going to be plowing snow, definitely need to hook up something for the Reverse Override. I'm just using a zip tie until I get the actual switch hooked up. And I have a 70 pound sand sausage on the rear rack for extra weight when backing up.

WOW - Impressive. I'm new to the quad world with a plow. How were you able to make those piles so high. I was hoping for some snow in Upstate NY, but we got about 2 inches of slush / Ice. I was able to play with the plow and remove the slush from my driveway before it froze.

I actually cannot take credit for the zip tie trick, I learned that from someone on these forums.........sorry cannot remember who it was. You just zip tie the button in and when you don't need to use it, just slip it off. Since it goes between the handlebar and the wiring harness, it just hangs there when not in use.

It is VERY handy.

I'll try and make a video for youtube of some plowing tricks.
