Default Running Problem

I got an 89 Polaris Trailboss and it hasnt wanted to start and stay started problem. Well today I sprayed out the carb and added fresh gas drygas (isopropol formula) and I got it started and it ran for a while then died started off of a full choke and then wouldnt start at all. Later (4hrs) I went out and got it started put air in the tires made it about 250 yds down the road and it died choked it started right back up and ran fine then I took it back to the garage after a trip around the subdivision. Then I parked it in the garage and let it Idle idled fine for 15 minutes or so then died and I left it. What are we thinkin carb rebuild, needle sticking???

check your crankshaft seals. they will let air in. what snowman is describing happend to my 2000 trailblazer 250 (same motor) and we went through the top end and carburetor multiple times. turns out the seals were leaking. the seals were leaking because the bearings were loose. might try taking the flywheel off and wiggle the crank up and down. if it has any noticable play that means the bearings are loose and need replacing

Alright I dont think that it is crank seals becuase this mornign i woke up and the downstairs smelled like gas I went into the garage and there was a little puddle of gas under the exhaust pipe. moved the pipe and a ton of gas came pouring out motor is flooded beyond belief needle valve is definatly smoked must have been stuck shut (why it shut off and wouldnt start) opened up in the night plus a little help from gravity stuck open equal where were at now. With the crankseals being bad I would experience a lack of power and im not having any problems with that it runs just fine when you get it started. It was a one pull starting machine for years and just about six months ago it got taken outside and parked (mom needed the room in the garage) and it sat outside for two months and wouldnt start. I cleaned the carb b/c the gas was bad (left over from last winter) new fuel filter and plug all was good and it was in the garage and I havent had much time to use it till the other day when it gave me these problems. Sorry about the long post also I use the oil injection system it appears to work is there any safe way to test it? I have had the machine for 6-7 years and it hardly ever uses and oil I maybe have filled it twice ever witht the synthetic injetor oil.

ok if you had not already it sounds like a carb kit would be good and for oil the only thing i know is the exaust if it smokes pretty good you should be fine but being
cold u might have to smell the smoke if it smells like oil thats good but im new to
atvs really i am not sure how accurate that is (but always worked for me)
