Default 07 Sportsman headlight pod pigtail

I just bought an 07 Sportsman 800 and was wondering if anyone knows what the pigtail hanging from the headlight pod on the back brake handle side is? I just stuffed it up under the pod to keep it out of the elements.

Also my rear sway bar bushings were all dry rotted. Anyone else have this problem. The dealer replaced them under warranty.

had one side real loose and had to tighten. the pigtail if its what i think, white w/ a few wire to it is the diagnostic plug in for the computer for a dealer. we just tuck it back under the pod as you did.

you are correct the pigtail is a diagnostic plug for the dealer to use. I had the same problem with the rubber bushings, the dealer also replaced mine for free and mine was out of warranty. they said the got a bad batch, some were craked right out of the box. no good!!!!!

Thanks! You would think that there would be some kind of protective cover for it........ I might just have to make something.

on both of my efi's they were hanging out so i think they leave them that way on purpose. once i tucked it back up never see it again.

I have gone through 2 sets of bushings both upper and lower. At $6.00 a pop they begin to add up. Try matching them up at an auto parts dealer. Newer Ford Rangers are a pretty close match. I would also recommend keeping an eye on the lower sway arm bolts. I recently had one come completely out and two others that were on their way.
