Default CV Joint Pliers

What type of pliers do I need to replace the boots on atvs ? I see on Ebay there is earless and ear type pliers. Is there a plier that does both ? Or which will I need for most atvs ?
Thanks,
D.

I have actually used long handled needlenose pliers. And I mean long-handled! 12inches in length or more. You get much better leverage on it that way. It helps if the nose has ridges in it; not smooth. Any tool truck or tool store should have them.

I use hose clamps instead of the clamps that come with the boot. That way you can use a screwdriver or socket.

On the outboard on a polaris, you can't use hose clamps because there would not be enough clearance between the boot and the strut housing.
