my 08 sportsman 800;s heat shields are rattling, i checked if any bolts were missing or loose, nope, it looks like the shield is hitting part of the frame. is there anything i can put in between the frame and the shield.

 

mine rattles a little too but havent taken the time to find where it is exactly. maybe some pipe insulation would work for ya or can you bend it away from where its hitting.

 

hi, you might put a washer between the frame+ the shield at the mounts,if one don't work then try two,lol.

 

grind the spot where it contacts

 

I took the shield off and put some spots of high temp silicone under it by all the bolt holes, let it dry overnight and put the shield back on , it works.
