my rule of thumb is if your boys are getting wet you better get out. i have been in water up to my cheeks (rear) with my feet up on the front rack and have had no problems, and that was in the middle of winter.

if you take a running start, when you hit the water try to keep the front end up you'll find the machine will kinda hop along the bottom. I've been thru 3-4 feet of water without drowning..... just make sure your belt housing is sealed properly.

up to your seat you will be safe at low speeds as the vents are just above that.

i have been in the river with the water over my frt low beam lights and flowing over my front rack..i have been short spurts with the water over my gas cap -less than 30 seconds..the only time mine water locked is when i tried to cross a 12ft deep pond (oh-beeer)..and my bike was still runnning until i got off and the it flipped over ,it actualy ran for a few seconds upside down under water..that cost me 8 fluid changes to get all the moisture out of her...still runs great..MY RULE OF IS KEEP IT A COUPLE A INCHES BELOW THE GAS CAP...but the again, mines paid for$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...cheeres and a happy NEW BEER!!!

I also went through some deep water up to the gas tank until I panicked and flipped the machine over. As Savage says, mine also got waterlocked. Still runs like a charm. Santa was good to me this year. He brought me a front and rear brush guard and a Polars storage compartment that velcrows on the back rack. How difficult are the brush guards to install????

I don't care for water higher than my foot boards, but I have been up to the headlights a couple of times, unexpectedly. If I was going to push the limits in deep stuff, I'd seriously consider snorkeling it.

I've also been up to the headlights on both quads. Didn't seem to bother them any.
