Default trail boss loading up problem[ fuel carb.]

i have a 87 trail boss 250 that seams to load up when you give it full speed or when you let off the gas.. it will stay running if you give it a very small throtle. or it will die i have cleaned out the carb and had it adjusted fine. will idle . it just recently changed. would it be the air temps causing this any ideas or help would be great thanks Ben

sounds like the main jet is either too big letting too much fuel in at WOT or the "E" clip on the jet needle is set wrong also letting too much fuel in between 1/2 throttle and WOT. i would start on the jet needle and move the e clip up a notch and see if that helps

nope no aftermarket parts. heres the story i got the atv from a farmer that had a grandson rebuild it in school rode it a few time then it sat for a few years. replaced the fuel tank, all fuel lines, cleaned the carb, jets and all. new filter and battery. got it to idel great and ran just fine. but after a few weeks and temps being cold it stared to load up or die when it came to idel. im new to this stuff so i wasnt sure if it was the cold weather changing it[like holly carbs do with climite change] thanks

if anything the carb would be leaner in the cold weather. are you sure the carb is 100% clean and the float isnt messed up?
