Default 07 Sportsman engine tapping

I just purchased a new '07 800 EFI Sportsman. After about ten miles of riding the engine developed a very light rhythmic tapping sound. Do I need to adjust the lifters?

Thanks
Stephen

Is the tapping down next to the right side of the engine? No adjusting the valves or anything because these motors have hydraulic lifters.

Yes the sound is coming from the right side of the engine. I just found some previous posts on the same subject. I guess this is normal???

Yeah the sound is normal. The 700 motor I had wasn't as loud as my 800 motor.

Search youtube.com for "sportsman 800 engine noise" and you'll find a video that I post about this very thing.

Other than this annoying noise, my 800 runs perfectly. There are numerous videos of 800's that I've listened that sound just like mine.

Congrats on the new ATV!
