sportsman 500
#1
I have a sportsman 500 and I'm not getting any spark to the plug. Coil and wire both look good. I did a voltage check of the white wire that plugs into the coil, turned the engine over and noticed the voltage came up very slowly and only to about five volts when cranking the engine. Does'nt seem right to me. Could this be a stator problem? If so, how do I go about taking the staor out and is there any way to check it out to see if it's bad? Please help, I'm now shoveling my driveway 'cause I can't use the quad for plowing. Thanks ....Don

Put in a new battery and about four days later I would ride it, turn it off get right back on and it wouldn't start. Wait a while and it would fire right up. Now it just cranks over and that's it.
