I have a 96 polaris 400 I have changed the spark plug cleaned the carb. It will idle but if i give it gas in neutral or forward it will stall or backfire. The weird thing is if i put it in reverse it idles up and runs fine. If i want to go foreward i can hit the rev limmiter and it will go foreward with a lil power. Any help on this would be greatly appricited. thx

 

sounds like the tranny switch maybe bad and making the bike think its in reverse whie in other gears. just a guess
