i have a 08 500 efi,and since i bought it,it's been hard to get in gear,i mean you got to really jerk it real hard to get it to change gears,i'm scared i'm going to break something;well i'ved noticed when it not runing,it easy to change the gears; i've had alot of polaris atvs and none of them done this,anybody ever had this trouble..

 

Check to make sure the idle isn't too high, and if it's ok then I would guess it's normal. I've heard a lot of complaints about this and everyone seems to think it gets better with some miles.

i don't think it's normal to have to jerk your arm off to change gears

 

wayout, what is it idling at for r's? they shift stiff but not extremly hard.

it's efi,about 1200 rpms;;; how come it shifts good when it ain't running
