Default roll pin front axle 96 400 xplorer

I just got done changing the front sprockets and chain, so good so far but now i've run into a problem. i'm trying to install the roll pin back in the front axle but i can't get it hammered in. Any suggestions? i have the holes lined up but it only goes in a bit...i've tried over an hour now and can't seem to get it in...

thanks for any help!

Got it, there is a spacer between the sprocket and the bearing....when the old sprocket came off the spacer came with it. I put it on backwards as one end is beavel a bit....onto next issue..ball joint!

You almost need the puller to get them out and in.
