Just for the record, my $50 costco special is still running strong and has now been "used" a lot. We are having a real winter here this year, its great!

I'll stick with my Ramsey. I've had the superwinch and other crap out on us in bad places at the wrong times. It's worth the extra money when you really need it to get out of a mud hole. It's it's being used for just plowing and minor uses I'd say you're okay with a cheaper one. My buddy has a 3000# gorilla and I have a 2500# Ramsey and recently we were pulling logs and his gorilla was stalling out and my Ramsey was still pulling. The Gorilla draw a lot more amps than a Ramsey. Ramsey draw 33% less amps than the other winches out there.
