Default Trail boss demand drive

I have a 1990 Trail boss 250 and can't get the demand drive to work. Traced the handlebar microswitch back to the terminal board and all appears OK. The wires down to each front hub also appear OK. Is there a easy way to tell if it is the microswitch, the terminal board, or something more sinister like problems in the front hubs? There is also no power to the dash lite?
Got about 10 hours in this investigation and growing weary

Hmmm.... I checked to see if there was power coming to the bulb and it made no difference which way I flipped the Demand switch, but I didn't check the bulb... Maybe I will just try to loop the circuit and see if that works? These micro switches baffle me
