Default etc adjustment help

The ETC is preset (to the best of my knowledge) to detect when there is a failure with the cable/carb/throttle body which might cause the engine to keep running as if the throttle is still being applied. The ETC will cut the ignition under a situation where you release the throttle lever and the throttle cable sticks. Problem is, the ETC doesn't know the difference between a cable that is stuck open and one that just has too much slack in it. Both situations result in ETC shutting down the ignition.

So, if you take the excess slack out of the throttle cable, ETC won't shut it down anymore (if thats what the problem is). If you start where the throttle cable goes into the handlebar switch housing and work toward the headlight pod, you'll come upon a cover/sleeve that you can slide out of the way and it will expose the cable adjuster. Turn the adjuster one way or the other (one way will take up freeplay and the other way will add play) until you have I believe its 1/8" freeplay.

Also, you can search the POLARIS forum for "ETC" and you'll find lots of threads on this.

Let us know if it works for you.
