Ok so I got my carb back together.

I started up the Hawkeye and it ran PERFECT. Well, the battery was dead so I let it charge. I let the Hakeye run for about 30 minutes.... I could hear it running in the house, then I heard it stall.

Odd I thought.

Well, upon going outside to check on it, the thing is blowing black smoke and it bogs down when you give it gas. Thus, a rich mixture.

wtf happened, it was running great!

The only thing I can think of is since it's not water cooled it got too hot from idleing for 30 minutes.

Would that cause black smoke if it got too hot?

if the plug is wet its getting too much gas. hence the black smoke. hows the float level set maybe its still letting too much gas in.
