Picking the quad up Saturday. Here is what the dealer said, go from second to neutral, although all the techs there had a hard time finding N as well. They said I fouled a plug while I was trying to start it one of the 50 times. So they replace the plug and stated that the throttle cable was not adjusted right so that is why is would crap out on me when I gave it gas. What do you guys thinkg? I hope this takes care of the issues, I will let you guys know Monday.
thanks for all the advice that everyone has given me.

TPS is throttle position center. ESP is a sensor in the thumb throttle housing. If there is no slack in the throttle cable, the ignition loses power. THis is to prevent the rider in the case of a stuck throttle, the engine will shut off. I also had an issue with this switch that cost me an XC race last year and I cut the two wires running into the throttle housing. Obviously not something the lawyers want to see happen, but it'll never cost me another race if it continues to be problematic, it might not be a bad idea for you too...

yes it does thottle positions sensor tell the ecu where the thottle is. They tend to become lose or out of spec, if you can feel a dead spot in the thottle i would be looking real close at that. Also take the air box off and look right down the carb grab the thottle what you are checking is the Accelerator pump is spraying right in between the black spot in the intake runner. IT has to spraying fuel at that spot. Have you adjusted your choke cable at all yet.

I will check out where the pump is spraying the gas tomorrow after I get it back from the shop and let you guys know. Cokeman, I havent adjusted anything on the quad yet, just bought it and havent really had a time to "play" with it yet. I did order the service manual so I will have a better understanding of all the parts.
Hope it will run good. How have you guys stopped the annoying seat problem? I find it hard to put on and have it stay on without me swearing 15 times before the thing stays on!

i heard they fixed the problem in 08, wish I knew how so I didnt have to re-invent the wheel or strap or tie it down. Dont want to be sitting on a tie down strap on a long ride, but then again dont want to take a digger because the seat comes flying off on me around a corner!
Cokeman, you ride an Outlaw or are you a mechanic?

polaris mechanic I have ridden the outlaw i rather ride a sportsman. You can put a sportsman in the mud and get out with ezzzzzz. On a outlaw you would sink or skipp over it, the trade off is a outlaw is a blast to ride becuase the power
