Synthetic rope repair
If you're gonna plow I'd suggest switching out to a shorter section like 10' or so....The reason for that is that a shorter section doesn't have as many wraps on the drum hence it won't wanna pull the outer wrap towards the center of the drum if that makes sense....It does work though.

Amsteel is the best syn rope out there and it's tensile strength is the same, or better, than steel. Won't spring back if it breaks and there is a number of sites out there to re-splice without clamps. Ditto on the other posts for going with a shorter piece for plowing. I have a 12' for that and it is thicker than stock size and haven't had it break yet. My stock size rope broke a few times while plowing before buying the short piece when it got bound with really heavy snow. Ran it back through the eyelet and tied a knot with no issues. Makes quick repairs simple and fast.
