Browsing through a JC Whitney catalog, they advertise this FuelMaster thingamajig and this is what they claim. "When gas is in your tank for a while, fuel molecules can cluster. blah blah blah.Compact device straps easily over in-bound fuel line and delivers an abrupt magnetic field to break up these molecules, ensuring the most complete burn possible. Works on every vehicle, every time."
Now the part that says, ensuring the most complete burn possible sounds good. Any comments on this?

I ordered that and have had it on about 18 months on my truck. I got it because it said it increases gas mileage and it increased by about 1-2 miles and for the $15 i paid works for me

Well, I find it hard to believe it really works all that well. Sounds like a gimmick to me. But I do not have any experience with it, so i can't be sure. Even if it did work, it would not be significant.

Heard tell of a feller who bought all them fuel-saving devices. A magnetic thing saved 10 %, a micron-sized particle filter saved another 10 %; another fan-blade blower thing on the carburetor intake saved 15 %; a special slick lubricant saved 25 %, a trick spark plug saved 17 %, and so on . . .

Finally, that guy was saving so much fuel, he had to stop every few miles and drain the extra gasoline from his fuel tank, so it wouldn't run over.

hahaha you kill me that was funny. Everybody is reading this wrong though. I,m not looking at trying to save gas in my quad, rather like it said in the ad,and I quote" ensuring the most complete burn", unquote. If this were true then I fiqure maybe a cleaner sparkplug & chamber, less fouling etc...
By the way is this guy still running on the same tank of gas?:-)

We use a similar unit with magnets in it to kill alge and other one cell organisms to prevent clogging fuel systems on our diesel engines in our boats. There are no claims about better fuel consumption or other "snake oil" claims.
"Bugs" are very prevalent in diesel fuel, and if a boat is not used very much, the bugs can breed and cause a great number of problems, ie. clogged filters, fuel lines, injectors, etc. Diesels are extremely sensitive to fuel system problems.

You could always try it and report back if it worked. Inquiring minds want to know.
I have no experience with this sort of thing, but have had poor luck with other 'fuel savers'. My brother bought an old IH pickup (still has it) that had a 'fuel saver' regulator in the fuel line. All it really was was a restricter so it ran leaner under load. It was fine for the guy who owned it before who didn't tow anything with it, but as soon as you hitched something to it & hit hills, it had no power and overheated.
I would say as long as it doesn't restrict the flow of fuel in any way, you can't hurt anything by trying it.

Hey CaptNemo~
Did you add more mods to your machine? I noticed your signature now reads "55+ horsepower" instead of "50+ hp".

I'm glad someone is paying attention WI Scrambler !!! I put a 39PWK carb on it and got it running this week. That ordeal may be worth a post in it's self...

Petrochemicals are made of molecules of carbon and hydrogen. Each type of fuel ( petrol, kero, ect ) has its own molecular make up of X carbon and Y Hydrogen for arguement sake. So once they are a stable molecule there not really going "cling" to each other..... If fuel did suffer from this, there would be magnet thingies on aircraft, cars, ect. Save your money - If it worries you that much SHAKE YOUR BIKE !
