I have never own a Polaris but would not hesitate to buy one. We had one in Iraq that was used and abused by many people in 130 degree heat, and received very little maintenance in return. On the other hand, the one Honda motorcycle I bought (new) required a new engine every 5,000 miles. After 15, 000 miles and three engines I got rid of the pos.

 

I really appreciate everyone helping me out here as it really is not an easy decision for me to make. I am going to be using it for trial riding, making my own trials, going up rivers/streams, etc... I want a good machine that I will be able to enjoy for many years to come. I plan to fully take great care of it, but I am also not the most mechanically inclined person. So I'll probably end up taking it to the shop when it needs work. Another words, I intend to get the extended warranty.

Thank you everyone, please keep the posts coming. Currently, I feel like the one I want is the 2007 500 Polaris EFI.

One other question. At the shop, where I'll be buying it, if I do, the color is black. It's not the black/white one, but auto painted black. Why isn't this color scheme showing up on the Polaris's Website? The machine is apparently new, still in the crate.

are you sure its a painted one? if its black it would have to be the stealth model.

The Sportsman 500 has the same 499cc motor as the Predator 500. Sportsman 499cc DOHC

i will not ever buy a polaris again i ve owned 3 in the past and all ive had ist trouble the starter,flywheel,stator and the list could go on and on for now on im sticken to yamaha ive only had minor things with them

 

TLC, the SP motor isn't the same as the predator. Not even close.

 

gotta look at the 07 LE models the all black one is the Stealth LE thats what I got and love it. Holding up just great so far.
