Default tire question 27"

is anyone running 27"mudlites on a 08 SP 500 HO?
any clearance problems,or anything else?
how do they handle on gravel (hard pack) roads?
any extra sway or rough ride?
i'm running 27" excavators on my old 425 with no problems but they are not as agressive as the mudlites.
also can i run the stock rims?
thanks
tux

Default tire question 27"

what is the issue with 9" up front
hitting front end moving parts
is this with the stock rims?
what kind of rims work?
do i need spacers,if i do will this not put extra pressure on front end parts?

Well I found the solution. I moved the outer tie rod end to the bottom of the bracket. In turn it moved the tie rod lower at the narrower part of the tire.
I was able to take the washers out from the back side of the rims and it fits fine. I hit the trails in some virgin snow and it worked fine.
These ITP mudlite XTR's are awesome. I plowed today and didn't even realise I wasn't in 4 wheel drive.

yes w/ stock rims they would be extremly tight if not hit the tie rod end. some have put washers in to help but it takes away from the threads to hold onthe rim and puts more stress further out on the stud. not sure what the differnce if any between the width of mud lites and m l xtr's in their overall width w/ the same size tire. i myself preferred the xtr's over the reg. mud lites.

I noticed my XTR's looked wider than my buddies and measured them. I am running 27x11x12 on the read and they are running 26x11x12 on the rear. Mine measured a full 11 inches wide and there's were 10 1/4 inches wide. I though 11 inches was 11 inches no mater how tall the tire.

Yearight, I agree! I'm glad you got them to work with the stock rims. Can we get a side view of your machine with the stock rims and new tires?
