TieRod Ends need replacing on 1995 425 what do you think about the 2001 Polaris type ????

I have a 1995 425 Mag. 4x4 with The grease type Ball@Cup ends, there is more free play than I like.I was thinking of changing to the kind on the 2001 polaris. How well do these hold up? They look a lot safer with the bolt going all the way through the end to me.Dealer said $83.00 for the parts. Please give me some input on this. THANKS

The newer tie rod ends are excellent they last much longer. The price is a little on the expensive side but they are heim joints instead of ball joints. They`re have been posts on buying your own heim joints from a hardware store or something like that and doing it yourself for a lot cheaper like 50% less. Do a search and see if you can find if your interested. I do have the newer Polaris ones on my 98 Scrambler. HTH

The new ones outlast anything else they've tried. I was going through a set of the old ones every four months. The new ones have been on since last spring, and holding up well. My local dealer sells them for $46 a pair.

Check with your dealer on this: It was cheaper to buy the parts separetly than to buy the kit whem I bought them for my '99 Sportsman. I also think that the 95's and some other years use smaller tie rods. You might have to replace the inner, outer and the rods themselves for it to work.
