Mad Dog Thumb assist
#1
My wife complains of her thumb hurting after a while and I was thinking of getting her the thumb assist from Cabelas. Anyone have one or use one before they are only 20 bucks. I dont want to get her a twist throttle she says she doesnt want one, but I think the assist will help her out.

i dont know what brand it was but ive seen a couple of them thumb extenders on wheelers for that way reason. i think it wouldnt be a bad investment at all. i wouldnt ever recommend getting a twist throttle for an atv but a few have had it and get along w/ it but to me it would be harder to use for sure.

Yeah Stendori I'm worried about her sliding back from a bump or hill and twisting it back putting her in a worse situation. You know I love that she likes to ride but think I've aged 20 years since I got her her own. She does really well but I'm nervous from the time we leave til we get back. She rolled her trailblazer 2 yrs ago and Ive been nervous ever since, doesnt seem to bother her though she just wont climb that hill again.

I'm getting one for my wife also. Things to watch out for is that with the assist the throttle becomes more sensitive, it's easier to give it too much throttle and you don't have as much control as with just the thumb lever. Another problem I have heard is with people bumping the throttle while standing up on the machine. Just need to get used to it I think.

i know on my 2 wheelers(wifes is one) that i have short fingers so i turned the whole throttle assembly up higher to compensate some what from a bad angle for us and it works to help.
