Hello again. I took off the clutch cover last night and took some pictures. It does look like the clutch is stuck a bit. I tried wiggling it out to full extension, but it wouldn't budge. I felt the insides of the clutch and examined it pretty good. I think everything looks like it is in pretty good shape. I shouldnt have to get a new clutch should I? Here is a link to the pictures that I took http://s266.photobucket.com/albums/ii267/tjjarousek/ Check them out when you get a chance and let me know what you think. Thanks again.

The 1st pic shows the clutch out of alignment see the belt riding on the out side of the sheave! Check your front lower motor mount this is a common problem.

I checked that last night and it was good. I think what you are seeing is the glare from the flash. The belt was in tact. It looks to me that the clutch is not fully extended. When I turn the clutch by hand, it pulls the belt. It is not releasing all the way. I just dont know what parts I would need to get and if this is something that I could do if I bought a clutch puller or if I should take it in. Thanks

I see a qap between the inside of the belt and sheave but I don't see a gap on the out side of belt and sheave. If the belt is touching the out side sheave it will creep! Is your belt touching?

If you look straight down on the belt, does the outer edge of the belt ride against the sheave like Rick said? Being that the picture wasn't taken at a right angle to the belt, I can't say for sure that what we're seeing is actually the case. The pic shows the belt's inner edge real clearly, and it is obviously not rubbing, but the outer edge looks like it is.

Have you tried starting the engine with the PVT cover off so you can see what's going on there? If you try it, just make sure that you don't get any body parts, clothing, or tools near the clutch as it's spinning. With the bike in Park, when you rev it up you'll be able to see the clutch operating. And you should also be able to see if the belt is dragging on the outer sheave.

You can also take the belt off very easily at this point and you might be able to inspect the EBS bushing by hand to see if it rolls smoothly. Know how to remove the belt?

Yes, it is touching both sides and when I spin the clutch by hand the belt wants to go with it. I know it is tough to see by the pictures, but it looks like the clutch isnt fully extending/releasing. I tried to pull it out by hand, but it wont budge.

If you grab the belt from the top between the drive and driven clutches and pull upward, this will force the lower part of the belt toward the inner part of the driven clutch you need to pull with enough umph to force the belt to open the sheaves) and then allow you to pull the belt off the top of the driven clutch. The belt will come off the driven clutch first, then you can slip it off the drive clutch.

What? I can see in the pic its not touching the inside sheave! With EBS the clutch will only turn 1 way.
We're only talking around .0020 each side.
